In the Holy Scriptures we will find the Peace and Balance we need.

“For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.” Psalm 36:9

There are many times when we give more importance to our physical needs, since they are the ones we can feel and recognize immediately. However, it is very important not to lose sight of our Spiritual needs which have a fundamental preponderance in our journey with the Lord.

Why enslave ourselves in superficiality and anguish, if we can be free in the glory of Christ?
We invest precious time looking for and trying to fulfill diets of diverse nature, aerobic routines that in the long run generate the false illusion of becoming socially accepted beings, with greater chances of getting the best jobs.

That is why it is vitally important to maintain a fluid dialogue with our Heavenly Father through prayer and the reading of the Holy Scriptures so as not to fall into deceptive illusions that lead us away from the purposes that the Lord has planned for our existence.

“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians 10:31

It is more than clear that good nutrition and physical exercise are very necessary and indispensable for our health. In fact, one of the most wonderful blessings we receive from the Lord is our body, which should be treated as a sacred temple; but not to feed our ego or our individuality, but to serve Christ with devotion.

We should not fall into the mistake of conceiving our lives as beings who do not show themselves as they really are or who pretend to make others believe that they are in a certain way when in fact they are not.

To live by pretending is a torment that we must remove from our hearts. Sometimes it seems that it is easier for us to pretend than to be authentic.

Let us always keep in mind that the Lord´s love for us is unconditional. He does not look at appearances but rather the opposite: He is interested in and concerned about all the good we have to show.
God urges us not to be ashamed of ourselves and to be better and sincere.

“For the bread of God is the bread that comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.” John 6:33

A change of focus is needed to reorder our priorities. In the Lord we can do everything. In Him we can achieve all goals. In Him we can live in Truth and Wisdom. When we give ourselves completely to God, we understand that our true peace does not come from the material goods that we can acquire, nor from imposed fashions, nor from the desire to see ourselves according to what modern society asks.

Superficiality is one of the many forms of hypocrisy, and not to live in the Truth of Christ, which is our Truth, is to live in permanent self-deception.

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6

Let us not be afraid to allow the Lord to come into our lives, transform and guide them towards the destinies he has prepared for us. Let us distance ourselves from those cultural opinions, from fashion or from some people that make us act like beings alien to their own personality.
Let us leave aside superficiality and hypocrisy to walk with the security that only The Eternal can give us.
