Understanding the importance of being a woman

The world is evolving at breakneck speed and we often don't stop to understand what really matters as women.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28

Many times, the over demands that our daily tasks make on us leave us exhausted, but when we reach the end of the day we are surprised when we notice that, despite the great tiredness we feel, we cannot sleep peacefully or thoughts of anguish loom in our thoughts.

We ask ourselves: When will I get some Peace?

And it is not for nothing, the daily difficulties require of us an enormous physical and mental effort that, accumulated in time can produce in us feelings of increasing anxiety and depression. It is precisely at moments of this kind that we must speak profoundly with God. Let us take advantage of these moments of vigilance to communicate with the Lord and to find in His Wisdom the way to allow us the break we deserve.

“Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him.”. Psalms 62:1

There are many and varied reasons why we can feel overwhelmed: The long working day, housework, caring for a relative experiencing a serious illness, preparation and the nerves that come with facing student exams, financial problems, and the tensions generated by unemployment.

All these disturbing situations, sustained over time, give us the impression of losing control of our lives.

If we are predisposed to recover our Spiritual Peace, that of our family and our loved ones, it is essential that we stop on our way and seek rest in the Grace and Mercy of the Lord to resume with renewed strength the daily events.

How can we not feel recovered, if our strength comes from our Heavenly Father?

“In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.” Psalms 4:8

When we cannot fall asleep, it is likely that our thoughts, coming back again and again to the same problem, will become turbulent. We are anxious not to know how the conflicts will be solved; infinite scenes and outcomes parade through our imagination and we think about how we will react before the different fictitious scenarios that we are considering. When we finally understand that the Lord is Sovereign of all our circumstances and is Present in every act of our lives we can renew ourselves in His rest and really solve our problems.

“The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters.” Psalms 23:1-2

Let us always keep in mind, then, that in Jesus we are called to slow down our pace, to slow down the unbridled pace that modern society seeks to instill in us. Our times are God's times and He calls us to the necessary rest that will refresh our bodies, clear our minds, and fill our spirits with Peace.

In this way, we will also be supporting the Eternal in His purposes, but for this, we must give importance to Balance and Serenity in order to be active members of the People of God renewed and vital. Let's keep time for the Pause in our lives, keeping in mind that living for the Lord begins when we understand that we can rest in Him.
